Gloria Dale Moore Millikan passed away peacefully in the care of loved ones on January 6, 2023 at the age of 79. Dale, as everyone called her, was born on July 16, 1943 to Elbert Moore and Ruth C Hill. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, but resided most of her adult life in between the states of Utah and Washington.
She married Cecil Millikan in August 1969. They were blessed with three children. They later divorced, but remained friends. Dale’s greatest joy in life was that of being a mother, grandmother and caring for others. When her life took a different path and she was no longer going to be able to be just a wife and mother, she used the resources available to her to continue her education. She received her degree as a registered nurse from Weber State College in 1980. She loved being a nurse and spent her career working with new mothers and in the mental health field.
She enjoyed scrapbooking, knitting and playing games. In her younger years, she owned a sports car and was a member of a car club that provided her with many fun memories that she loved sharing. She looked forward to girls’ trips taken with daughters and granddaughters. After her retirement, she was blessed to be able to live with her daughter, Jody and son-in-law, Brandon, which allowed her to watch some of her grandchildren grow up on a daily basis. This was a great joy to her.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her Savior and had a strong testimony of his gospel.
She gave up Pepsi for the “occasional” Dr. Pepper and you would often find her working a puzzle or watching TV, especially Star Trek, while drinking a Dr. Pepper and snacking on some sweets.
She is survived by her daughter, Jenny (John) Benson, her son, Cecil (Anna) Millikan and her son-in-law, Brandon Allsop, 11 grandchildren; Bradley, Cameron, Matthew, Milee, Miranda, Tanner, Stephen, Cailyn, Ciera, Cooper and Brenna and 2 great-grandchildren with one more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, 2 sisters and her beloved daughter, Jody Allsop.
