Gloria Mae Ricketts

Gloria Mae Ricketts of Fruit Heights has left this earth to be with our Heavenly Father, her husband, and family members on 27 July 2009, after a long and brave battle with an extended illness. She was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on January 25, 1927 to Archie and Flo Kirchner.

She married John D Ricketts of Honey Grove, Texas on February 14, 1947. Their marriage, and love for each other was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, in 1980.

She and her husband shared a life of service to this wonderful country. While her husband spent thirty years in the United States Air Force, she was able to accompany her husband on over thirty two moves across the country and Europe creating a loving home and taking care of their two children.

She enjoyed camping, traveling and the loves of her life, her family, her extended family, friends, and the ability to share cooked items with everyone. All of us in the family enjoyed holidays so much more with the baking Grandma did every year.

Gloria''s family, friends, and extended family would like to thank her for all the love and caring she has provided all of us through so many years. As a member of the "Greatest Generation", we would also like to say thanks for all the sacrifices you have made in support of your husband, family, and in support of this wonderful country she loved so much.

Her children are daughter Deborah L. Duke and her husband George Duke of Ogden, son John D Ricketts Jr. and his wife Sheryl C. Ricketts of Fruit Heights. She has eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Her love and her wonderful spirit will forever be missed, but we know that she and Dad are watching over us every day. We love you very much!

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville City Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main Street.
