WASHINGTON TERRACE a€" Gloria Wakefield Stone, 71, passed away Monday, September 8, 2008 at her home surrounded by family, after a long battle with diabetes.

She was born October 21, 1936, in Plymouth, Utah, a daughter of Gerald and Grace E. Hawks Hess. She attended Ogden High School and Weber State College, and graduated from Hollywood Beauty College.

Gloria married E. Burdell Wakefield on April 17, 1962 in Ogden. He preceded her in death in 1987. She later married C. William Stone September 8, 1998 in Ogden.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Washington Terrace 2nd Ward, where she served as an Activity Leader, Visiting Teacher, and Single Adult Leader.

Gloria was the owner and operator of Gloria''s Beauty Salon for many years. She was also employed by, and retired from, the I.R.S.

Gloria loved spending time with her family and all the grandchildren. She was their number one fan. She enjoyed camping, and her affiliation with the pinochle club.

She is survived by her husband, Bill of Washington Terrace; one son and four daughters, Cynthia Fatemi (Jon) Christensen, Ginger Hammer, Rexan (Craig) Hyer, Burdell (Michelle) Wakefield, and Cari Jo (Grant) Morris; 11 grandchildren, Chace, Skye, Erin, Angie, Robert, Amanda, Samantha, Paul, Casey, BillieJo, and Joshua, as well as eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Also surviving are her brother, Brent (Linda) Ogan and one sister, Shirley (Dolf) Baltazar.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Burdell Wakefield, her parents, her stepfather, James Ogan, and one great-granddaughter, Chancie C. Caldwell.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 13th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Alan Bowthorpe officiating.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
