With much love and gratitude for her life, we mourn the passing of Gloria Dean Taylor of North Ogden on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.
Gloria was born on November 27, 1934 to Myrl and Karma Jones. She had one sister, Jerine, and always felt she lived in a blessed time and place in history.
In junior high, Gloria took great interest in a popular boy with bright, red hair. On August 29, 1952, she married him. They were sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple on August 3, 1972. Gloria and her husband, LaVall Taylor greatly enjoyed being the parents of their two children, Connie LaVall and Kevin Jay.
Gloria worked as a librarian for Washington Terrace Elementary. She also helped to manage Vall’s business, DT Electric.
Gloria liked people. She and Vall will long be remembered for their warm, genuine affection for family, friends, and strangers alike. Their home and their hearts were always open to those who visited (or stayed for a while).
Gloria loved laughing. She often laughed so hard that tears would roll down her cheeks. Gloria enjoyed reading books, her conversations with friends and family, and playing cards. In her younger years, she liked bowling, road trips with her husband, and hunting/camping with her family.
Nothing was more important to Gloria than her family.
Gloria is survived by her son, Kevin (Kat) Taylor; son-in-law, Jerry Comish; sister, Jerine (Lloyd) Barney; grandchildren, Jeremy, Suzie, Stephanie, Melanie, Nicholas, Cameron, and her great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vall; daughter, Connie; and parents, Myrl and Karma.
Gloria was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The family would like to thank her ward members, friends, and neighbors for supporting her.
The family would also like to thank Atlas Homecare and Hospice (Shannon, Sydney, and Shanna) and Kelsey Rule for their excellent care.
Gloria’s family will hold a small graveside service on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden. Services entrusted to Lindquist Ogden Mortuary.
