Gloria M. Thim
CLINTON – Gloria Mary DeWitt Thim, 88, passed away at the home of her granddaughter, Debbie Hall, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born January 31, 1920 in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Wilber E. and Ellen A. Christiansen DeWitt.
Gloria married Clyde W. Thim in November of 1944 in Salt Lake City. They were later divorced.
She was raised and educated in Salt Lake City, graduating from East High School and the University of Utah.
Gloria retired from Hill Air Force Base following many years as an inventory management specialist.
She was a member of the B.P.W. and local organizations including the Federal Women’s Club, Senior Association, and Alpha Delta Phi Sorority at the University of Utah.
Gloria loved traveling, trips to Wendover, puzzles, reading and going to plays with friends.

Surviving are two daughters, Sherri (Jack) Hill, Farr West, UT; Carol Harris, Camarillo, CA; daughter-in-law, May Thim, Comfort, TX; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild with another one on the way; and her dear friend, Dora York.
Also surviving is one sister, Delores Openshaw, Midvale, UT.
She was preceded in death by her son, John D. Thim, her sister, Ila McReynolds, and brother, Ted DeWitt.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
