Golden E. Kent RIVERDALE - Golden Edward Kent, age 88, left this life on Thursday, July 12, 2007 to be with his beloved wife, Virginia. Golden was born December 25, 1918 in Fairview, Wyoming, to Charles Edward and Rhoda Ann Young Kent. He was the youngest of six children. Dad was raised in Logan, Utah. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in the 10th Engineers serving in Africa and Arzio, Italy during World War II. Dad married his beautiful wife, Virginia Heninger, February 23, 1945. Together they raised six wonderful children. Dad moved his family to Ogden, then Riverdale. Dad worked at Defense Depot Ogden retiring in 1976 after 30 years. Dad was an active member of the Washington Terrace 5th Ward. He served in several callings. He enjoyed gardening, bowling and golfing. You could find him every Monday morning on the greens with his golfing buddies. Dad is survived by his children, H. Dean (Belva) Kent, Bountiful; Karl Von (Ann) Kent, Victorville, CA; JoAnn (Fred) Clifton, Wylie, TX; Linda (William) Hemminger, Layton; Marilyn Elliott; 27 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Dad was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, son, Charles Edward, grandchildren, Debi Kent, Bill Kent and Justus Kent, one great-grandson, Brandon Boyle, his parents, one brother, Charles L. Kent, and four sisters, Gertrude Andrews, Vilate Ferguson, Dorthy McCubbin and Nina Llewelyn. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Washington Terrace 5th Ward Chapel, 350 West 5100 South, with Bishop Wayne Funk officiating. Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday at the Ward Chapel from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., where Military Honors will be accorded.
