OGDEN a€" Goldie V. Gerhardt, 80, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 in Ogden.

She was born October 26, 1926 in St. Charles, Idaho, a daughter of Heber Augustus and Ellen Olson Peterson, where she was raised along with her 11 siblings. She graduated from Paris High School.

Goldie married Byron E. Cheney on March 1, 1947. Their vows were later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on January 15, 1972. She married Donald R. Gerhardt on May 18, 1974. They spent 33 great years together.

Goldie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings. She passed on a legacy of family and faith.

She spent the majority of her adult life raising and serving her children in the Ogden area. Goldie enjoyed the time she lived at Peach Tree Assisted Living Center with her husband, receiving visitors, reading books and ordering Avon. She never lost her zest for shopping.

Surviving are her husband Don of Ogden; her children, Jackie (Merwin) Holgate, South Ogden; Robert (Shari) Cheney, Layton; Kathy Beus, Fruit Heights; Bruce (Ann) Cheney, Preston, ID; Glen (Janet) Cheney, Beaver Dam, AZ; Sherri (Barry) DeHaan, Clinton; Jolene (Neil) Palmer, Ogden; 27 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Also surviving are one brother and one sister, Lynn (Connie) Peterson, St. Charles, ID; Maythel Zesiger, Nampa, ID.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Byron, two grandchildren, Rochelle Cheney and Bryson DeHaan, six brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
