Goldie Myers Roskelley

February 23, 1928 ~ February 9, 2017

Goldie Alfreta Myers Roskelley passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017.  Born on February 23, 1928 in Winder, Idaho to Clarence Earl and Mary Elizabeth Taylor Talbot, Goldie was the fifth of nine children.  She worked hard on the family farm and enjoyed footraces at school.  Goldie won many first place ribbons.

Mother was deeply loved by two special men, Benjamin Andrew Myers, the love of her life, the father of her four children, and to whom she is sealed, as well as to Cloyde B. Roskelley, her second sweetheart, with whom she enjoyed 29 years of marriage prior to his passing.

Goldie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully held many callings.  She especially enjoyed compassionate service and visiting teaching.

She was happy when she was dancing with her sweethearts at the Berthana and the Hermitage.

Goldie loved to travel and was a skilled seamstress and crocheted blankets for all of her grandchildren.  She was an immaculate homemaker and a prolific canner.  She was a rare person who loved cleanliness and order.  Most of all Goldie loved people, serving others, and spending time with her family - she was our “glue.”

Goldie is survived by her children, Bernice Myers, Ogden; LaNae (Richard) Hadley, Roy; Kathryn (Bill) Goss, North Ogden; Kenneth (Shelli) Myers, Taylor; stepchildren, Steven Roskelley, North Dakota; Blane (Kathleen) Roskelley, Layton, and Dixie Duncan, Ogden;  12 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Maggie (Ivan) Howell, Washington Terrace; and brother, LaVern (Margaret) Talbot, Winder, ID.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, Benjamin A. Myers and Cloyde B. Roskelley;  granddaughter, Amber Dawn Hadley; siblings, Ramona Rassmussen, Dale Talbot, Lola Talbot, Juanita Jamison, Ivan Talbot, and Blanche Pyper.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff at Stoney Brooke Assisted Living for their love and kindness toward mom.  She loved you all.  Thanks also Symbii Hospice for your sweet support.
