Gordon Jay Fernelius

October 15th, 1955 ~ July 28th, 2016

Gordon Jay Fernelius passed from this life to the next on Thursday, July 28th, 2016 in Seattle, Washington.  He was born October 15, 1955 to Robert G. and Renee U. Fernelius in Salt Lake City, Utah. Gordon grew up in Murray and attended Cottonwood High School, but later moved to Bountiful with his family where he graduated from Bountiful High School.  In his youth, Gordon loved camping, boating and hunting.  He was an avid water skier and excelled at it.  He received his Eagle Scout prior to his 16th birthday, and after graduating from high school enlisted in the U.S. Army to serve his country.  Due to unforeseen health issues, he was honorably discharged and returned to Salt Lake.  He later relocated to Seattle where he continued to struggle with medical issues.  He remained in Seattle and touched many lives and built strong relationships until his recent passing.  Gordon will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Special thanks to the many who have known and who have helped Gordon in so many ways the last few years of his life, especially the neighbors and friends in the Seattle/Tacoma area.

Gordon is survived by parents; Robert and Renee Fernelius; sisters; Eileen Orton (Perry), Becky Clayton (Bill); brothers; Kenny (Robyn), and James (Chase).  He was preceded in death by his sister Carol.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 11th at 11:00 a.m. in the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 North "N" Street, Salt Lake City, Utah (burial site just off of 1200 East 355 North).  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.
