Gordon M. Frey SOUTH JORDAN – On Wednesday, February 6, 2008, Gordon Meerle Frey, our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 76. Gordon was born October 13, 1931 in Elgin, Illinois, to Herbert and Iola Frey. He was raised in Elgin and lived there with his parents until entering the U.S. Air Force in 1951. He then trained as a cartographer and served in Korea before being stationed at Hill AFB where he met the love of his life, Doris A. Sorensen. They were married in Ogden, Utah on July 7, 1956. He was a graduate of Weber State, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in economics in 1965. Gordon was employed as a civilian at Hill AFB as a contract negotiator in the Directorate of Contracting and Mfg. He retired in 1986. He also worked at Flamco-Barnes. Gordon enjoyed camping, fishing, cross-country and down-hill skiing with his wife and family. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed more than words can say. Surviving are his wife Doris, daughter Julie Nelsen, son-in-law Dyke Nelsen and three grandchildren Brett Nelsen, Tanner Nelsen and Christine Nelsen. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Email condolences to the family at: www.lindquistmortuary.com
