Gordon A. Hewitt

Gordon A. Hewitt, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 31, 2012. He was born on February 7, 1918 to Andrew and Mary Van Leeuwen Hewitt in Ogden, Utah.

He married Bessie Abbott. Bessie passed away in 1962 and he married Nellie Wolf. Nellie passed away on October 8, 2004.

Gordon was a sweet talker. He could fix anything and was a regular craftsman. He worked for Defense Depot of Ogden as a crane operator and was a very hard worker. He had a great sense of humor. He also worked as a landlord and in his youth sold pigeons.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Gordon is survived by his sons, Jeff (Paulette), Farmington and John (Connie) Bridger Valley, Wyoming; 14 grandchildren and sisters, Jane (Richard) Gruettner and Virginia (Vern) Koldewyn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Hewitt; wife, Nellie Hewitt; grandson, David Hewitt; father, Andrew and mother, Mary Hewitt; brothers, Boyd Hewitt and Grant Hewitt.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
