“My Next Big Trip”

Gorman Wesley Irwin, 90, passed away in the loving arms of his family, Wednesday, August 19, 2015.

He was born November 18, 1924 in Oakland California. He graduated Granite High and attended the U of U in SLC. Gorman joined the U.S. Merchant Marines and served during World War II. He traveled to every continent while serving. After returning from the war he married his high school sweetheart, Phyllis Davies on November 15, 1946.

She preceded him in death on February 10, 1958, leaving four children; Sandra Cantrell (deceased), Robyn K Scott, Karen McCain and Monte J Irwin (deceased).

Gorman and Phyllis owned and operated the Pine View Boat Marina, Pine View Plunge and the SKI Inn, in Huntsville, Utah. Together they won many trick skiing awards. He was an avid hunter and fisherman spending hours with his grandsons teaching them the joys in the duck marshes, the woods, and the lakes. He spent every winter in Mexico on the Sea of Cortez. His quick wit and great sense of humor will be missed by all.

Gorman is survived by two children, five grandchildren, Yancy, Casey and Ryan Scott; Zack McCain and Lisa Williams; 11 great and 2 great-great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 6 to 9 p.m. at 1717 Canyon Road in Ogden, Utah.
