Grant H. Bingham
September 6, 1923 ~ January 17, 2016
Grant H. Bingham, age 92, passed away on January 17, 2016 at home, in the arms of his loving wife.
Grant absolutely loved his family and cherished nothing more than the time he was able to spend with them.
Grant was born on September 6, 1923 in Ogden, Utah, to Elisha Harrison Bingham and Hannah Melissa Hall. Since his family moved often, he attended schools in Winton, Wyoming, Morgan, Utah, Jerome, Idaho, and Emmett, Idaho. He finished high school at Weber High School in Ogden, Utah. He married LuDeen Holmes on February 17, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He received his draft notice the same day on the way to the temple.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, serving in the States and in England. He was honorably discharged in 1945.
LuDeen passed away in 1988. In November 1990, he married Beverly Pringle and they were later sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple.
He was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He fulfilled two Stake Missions before serving a fulltime mission in Louisiana with his wife Beverly. He and Bev also served missions at the Church Cannery in Ogden and served together in the Ogden LDS Temple.
He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Weber College. He worked as a sales representative, served as a Firefighter for Ogden City and retired from Ogden City School District Administration.
Grant loved spending time with family and friends, which included trips to the family cabin in Liberty and week long trips on his houseboat on Lake Powell. He had a passion for traveling and always had a story to tell about the places he had been.
Grant loved life to the fullest, putting everything he had into each task. He was always building, fixing or taking on projects the minute it needed to be done. He always said, “Don’t put off until tomorrow, what you can do today.”
Grant is survived by his wife, Beverly; children, Kathy Schaefer, Vicky (Wayne) Baab, and Kurt (Sandy) Bingham. Also survived by stepchildren, Bret (Julie) Pringle, Bart (Lesa) Pringle, Cindy Parkinson (Max Call), and Wendy (Corey) Winn. At the time of his passing, from both loving families, he had 21 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren.
