Grant Edward Maybury, 48, left this mortal sojourn Monday, December 8, 2008 to enter into the loving arms of his Savior Jesus Christ.
Grant exemplified the characteristics of selfless service. He loved others more than he loved himself. He died while trying to take care of his family, despite the physical infirmities of this mortal life.
He was brought into this world, June 8, 1960 by his loving parents, Albert Edward and Edna Bailey Maybury.
Grant married the love of his life, Cindy Murray in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 17, 1979. Together, Cindy and Grant raised three boys; Kyle, Lee and Chris. Today, Grant lives on in each of them.
Following his father''s example, Kyle married his sweetheart, Cebu Hellstrom, in the temple. Grant quickly adopted Cebu as his own daughter. The new angel in his life, who also bears his name, is his grandson, Grant Edward Maybury.
Grant faithfully worked at Hill Air Force Base for 25 years. It was there that he was known as "O.P." by all of his friends and colleagues. Grant was literally the life of the party; he was blessed with a sense of humor that was second to none.
His talents cannot be numbered. He decorated magnificent wedding cakes, turned wood into artful masterpieces, and taught his sons the joy of fishing. He was the happiest while he immersed himself in these, his favorite hobbies.
Grant was a faithful member of the LDS church. He had a strong testimony and love for his Savior Jesus Christ. He cherished his time as a primary teacher.
Grant is survived by his immediate family; his father, Albert Maybury; two sweet sisters, Barbara (Jim) Millard and Joan (Greg) Krim; his in-laws, Art and Irene Murray, who he thought of as his own parents; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Maybury and his nephew, Jordan Murray.
We may be separated in life, but we''ll be together forever. We love you always.
