Heber J Grant Roberts, 80, passed away peacefully at his son’s home in Herriman, UT, surrounded by his family on Monday, March 14, 2016 of heart failure.  He was born on May 6, 1935 in Cleveland, ID a son of LeRoy MacDonald and Gladys Minnie Olsen Roberts.

On May 6, 1960 Grant married Connie Gaye Bronson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Grant lived in many towns throughout Southern and Eastern Utah growing up, graduating from Preston High School Class of 1953.  He then served in the US Army Infantry for two years and was stationed in Germany and was honorably discharged as a Private First Class.  Afterwards he served in the Great Lakes Mission, serving in Ohio and Michigan.

After his marriage to Connie they settled in the Ogden area, where they raised their two sons, and lived happily for 39 years, until she preceded him in death in 1998.

Grant worked as a computer operator in the banking industry.  He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, most recently of the South Ogden Burch Creek 5th Ward, where he had served in many callings.

A clockmaker and collector, Grant also enjoyed leatherworking, photo editing, and completing various types of puzzles.  He was a fan of Country Western music and loved to take road trips with his family.  He never knew a stranger.

Grant is survived by his sons, Bradley (Tammy) Roberts, Ogden and Jeffrey (Claudia) Roberts, Herriman; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, his brothers, Ray (Jean) Roberts, Helper and John Goldstein, Reno, NV; and his sister, Maxine Bruntzel, Seattle, WA.  He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brother, Reed L. Roberts.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
