KAYSVILLE a€" Grant Barnes Smith, 82, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2010 at his home with his loving family.

He was born February 6, 1928 in Ogden, Utah the son of William Brown and Mary Elena Barnes Smith.

Grant married Arlene Colvin on July 9, 1947 in Ogden, Utah.

Grant retired from Hill Air Force Base after 42 years of service.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Grant enjoyed farming, deer hunting and going to the cattle auction.

Surviving are his wife Arlene, children: Wayne (Donna), Terry (Phyllis), Scott, sister, Donna Newton, grandchildren, Tarralee, Kaye Lynn (Charles), Kimberly (Josh), Douglas, Jeremy (Dolly), Wendy, great-grandchildren, Murlin, Dalton, MacKenzie, MacKayela, Payton, Ian, Ashlee, special friends, Douglas and Laurie Justinson, and Jay R. (Angie) Sanderson.

Preceded in death by his son, Douglas G. Smith, parents, sister, Bertha, twin brothers, Jay and Ray.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
