October 6, 1926 ~ September 4, 2014.

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Grant E Wayment, 87, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014.  He was born on October 6, 1926 in Warren, UT to Cornelius and Ada Mae Rose Wayment.

He was a man of few words. He taught by example. He was kind and compassionate with an incredible inner strength and the unique ability to live happily each day.  He was steadfast and took life’s challenges in stride.  He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Grant served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War.

He married Mary L. Thomas on October 3, 1986 in Salt Lake City and was later sealed in the Bountiful LDS Temple.

Grant worked and retired from the Federal Defense Depot of Ogden with 37 years of service.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a Sunday School Superintendency 1st Counselor.  He was a member of the American Legion.

He loved hunting, doing yard work and gardening.

Grant is survived by his loving wife, Mary; sons, Larry (Julie) Wayment, Boise, ID; Kent (Sabrina) Wayment, Garland, Darren Wayment, West Valley; and Jeff (Karen) Wayment, Slaterville; and Eddie Loosle, Bennion; daughters, Marilee (Rod)  Burningham, Salt Lake City; Angie (Clark) Haycock, Magna; and Cindy (Steve) Archer, West Jordan; brothers, Eldon Wayment and Darel Wayment; 22 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Corneilius and Ada Mae Rose Wayment; daughter, Kari Wayment; brothers, Rollo Wayment, John Wayment;  sisters, Mae East, Ada Wayment, Lois Jensen; Evelyn Powers, Dortha Rovertson, and Virgie Marotz; and grandson, Shawn Dalhover.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.   Friends may visit with family on Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Warren Cemetery.
