Grayce Erickson Schafer, 91, our loving mother and grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 4, 2012 at McKay-Dee Medical Center.

Born on June 25, 1921 in Salt Lake City, UT, she married Frederick Rupley Schafer, Jr. on February 8, 1941 and remained married for 51 years before he passed away in 1992. They lived in St. Joseph, MO before moving to Twin Falls, ID and finally Roy, UT. Together they had eight children all of which survive her: Erlynn (Dan deceased) McMann; Janice (Stuart) Larimore; Colleen (Brent) Platt; Fred (Valerie) Schafer III; Richard (Carol) Schafer, Sherry (Mike) Priddy, Merry (Craig) Parkinson and Michael Schafer.

Her generous spirit, twinkling smile and great home cooking will be missed. Her skill at cards is legendary.

Grayce is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way, brother, Howard (Edel) Erickson and a sister-in-law Gloria Erickson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank W and Sylvia Parker Erickson, brother Frank "Bud", sister Melba Papka and a granddaughter, Jennifer Schafer

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, Roy. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Her remains will be buried at a later date in the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Salt Lake City.
