Gregg Robert Wixom (a.k.a. G-Dawg) beloved husband, father, brother, son, uncle, teacher, and mentor to many, passed away suddenly at his cabin in Colville, Washington on December 28th, 2024.

Gregg was born in Ogden, Utah, March 7th, 1950. He grew up in Layton, Utah with his brother, sisters, parents, and grandparents. He graduated from Davis High School and went on to get his Bachelor’s Degree from Weber State University. Gregg joined the United States Army as a photographer and saw the world. After the military Gregg met the love of his life Becky and raised 4 children together.

Gregg had many passions. His passion for photography led him to be a civilian photographer Hill Air Force Base where he worked until his retirement and also his photography business that he ran for many years beyond that. He had a passion for the outdoors that he shared with his children even into their adulthood, especially with his sons, Joel and Bryce, who spent plenty of time hunting and fishing together. He had a passion for motorcycles that he shared with his son, Chad. He had a love for teaching that he shared with his wife, Becky, who taught school until her passing and Gregg himself taught school for a number of years until his passing. He loved his music and learned to play the guitar and enjoyed playing for everyone he was around.

Gregg’s biggest dream was to be a cowboy. A dream that he was able to fulfill. He purchased land in Eastern Washington and with the help of his daughter Courtney, son-in-law Justin, and grand-daughter Ashlyn, he lived his dream. They turned it into his own ranch sanctuary with their blood, sweat, and tears. They built his cabin, worked the land, and raised their animals right up to his passing. This was one of Gregg’s happiest times because right alongside his family, Gregg had finally become a cowboy.

Gregg affected so many people and taught countless life lessons to them. He was loved and cherished by many and had the kindest heart and used that heart to help anyone. He would give you the shirt off his back if he thought needed it. His smile and jokes will be burned into the memories of us all.

Gregg was preceded in death by his soulmate, Becky Wixom, his parents, Robert Wixom, Betty Wooley, and James Wooley, his brother, Stan Wixom, his sister Cindy Bozarth, and his grandparents.

He is survived by his children Joel Wixom of Ogden, Utah, Chad Wixom of South Ogden, Utah, Bryce Wixom of West Jordan, Utah, his daughter, Courtney Wixom and her husband Justin of Colville, Washington. Also, 6 grandchildren, Karlie, Kristopher, Trynitie, Kindra, Ashlynn, and Harvest. His 2 great-grandchildren Symphony and Kadence, and his 3 sisters, Mitzi Rea of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kathy Beus of Denver, Colorado, and Robin Aldous of Layton, Utah.

Gregg left behind the greatest of Legacies that anyone who was touched by his life will remember for the rest of theirs.

From your children, Dad we will love and miss you forever. Thank you for making all of us who we are today. You go be with mom and rest easy because we will be ok.
