Gregorita “Goey” V. Archuleta
OGDEN – Gregorita “Goey” V. Archuleta, 86, died Thursday, October 2, 2008 at her home of congestive heart failure.
She was born March 27, 1922, a daughter of Antonio M. and Jesusita Martinez Valdez.
In 1945, Goey married Pedro Archuleta in Borger, Texas. Pedro preceded her in death on December 17, 2005.
She was a member of the Pentecostal Church and had studied the Bible with the Jehovah’s Witnesses for the last several years, and had the hope of resurrection and everlasting life.
She worked at McKay-Dee Hospital in the housekeeping department for many years.
Goey enjoyed board games, coloring, embroidery, and cooking. Following her retirement, she worked as a Senior Companion.
Surviving are two daughters, Theresa Francis (Fernando Sr.) Renteria, Ogden; Connie (Merle) Byrd, Medford, OR; four grandchildren, Claudia (Juan) Hernandez, Laura Zamorano, Fernando (Rocio) Renteria, Jr., Dennis (Kenna) Byrd, one great-granddaughter, Ellie Marie Byrd, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, one brother and one sister.
The family expresses special thanks to her hospice nurse Julie Lee as well as Julia Garcia for their care of Goey.
Memorial services will be held Sunday at 6 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd.
