Guadalupe “Lupe” Josefina Herrera Vasquez
OGDEN - Lupe passed away after several years of suffering with Pulmonary Fibrosis and at the end Lupe kidneys failed on January 17, 2013, surrounded by her husband, nephew, and niece.
Guadalupe was born December 11, 1948 to her parents, Simon Herrera and Santiaga Adams aka Jeanie Lucro Zamora. She graduated from Weber State University.
Today an angel was called home it is a sad day for all who knew Lupe. She loved life had a heart of gold and was always willing to help people. She enjoyed her Chihuahuas as if they were her children. She will be truly missed by all who knew her. Lupe gave her heart and soul, and dedication to working with children with disabilities and opened her home to those in need. So from my heart I want to say, Dear Mom, I truly love and miss you. I want to say thank you for all you have done. I need to thank you for adopting me when I was little and for always being an angel. It is truly hard to express how I really feel. Always know you’re in my heart and prayers. I love you and miss you Mom, your son Roger.
Palabras are hard to express, but I am not going to say goodbye, but one day we will come together again. But as for now, the time has come that our Madre Sita has embraced you as she took you away from all the pain and suffering and lead you to the sacrifice of our Father Tonatiuhs light shines on you. To bless you with gifts of fresh air and may his light shine on your face. You are able to stand with our Mother and little brother once again. You will meet our familia that wait for passage. Sis, Lupe Carnala, Sis I know that you’re on a journey a special place was prepared for you in Aztlar. I pray for that time our paths will cross again. You will be truly missed but never forgotten. You will always be our Mom, our Carnala y la reyna that kept us going strong. I love you and miss you, you are always in mi corazon and I will never say goodbye. Lupe is survived by her loving husband, Ramon Romero Vasquez; brother in-law and sister-in-law in El Salvador, her Chihuahuas which she treated like they were her children Chucha, Chiquita, Rosita, Panchito, and Lucy (deceased), brother Fred Angel Gomez, nephew, Josue Vasquez Panameno; niece, June Mendiola Panameno, nephews Damion, Eric, and Dominic Patterson, best friend and sister, Kerri Vega, her good daughters and her good son, Tio’s and Tia’s near and far, extended familia, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon Herrera and Santiaga Adams aka Jeanie Lucro Zamora and in-laws Rafael Vasquez Romero and Ester Romero de Vasquez.
A special thanks to the nurse’s at Ogden Regional that looked over her while she was there. A extra special thanks to nurses Laura, Bre and Matt that took extra care of her while Tia Lupe while she was in the ICU. Thank you very much for all you guys have done from her family.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 514 24th. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
