Guadalupe Flores Zuniga
Guadalupe Flores Zuniga passed away on April 30, 2012. She was born in Bryan, Texas on October 26, 1948 to Andres and Modesta Flores, the third of ten children, five brothers and four sisters. Growing up in a large family gave her a great deal of love for hard work and sacrifice. She always put others ahead of herself.
On June 25, 1966 Guadalupe married Juan Zuniga Sr. in Holly, Colorado. Juan and Guadalupe were farmers, but the best thing they ever raised was a beautiful family. They were blessed with seven wonderful children who they loved and cherished for the 43 years they spent together prior to Juan Sr.''s passing in June of 2009.
Guadalupe was raised with strong Christian values and a great deal of faith. She recently found something that greatly added to her faith, conviction, and her great love of family. She was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved the peace and happiness it brought into her life, especially the knowledge that she could be sealed and united with her family and loved ones forever.
Guadalupe lived and loved life with all her heart, so much so that on April 30, 2012 her heart simply gave out. She has now passed to be reunited with her loved ones that have gone before. If she could have taken anything with her it would have been her hobbies, which all centered on serving others. She loved embroidery, making blankets, and the Food Network, but her favorite thing was quality time spent with family and friends from both sides.
For those who will be missing her dearly on this side, she is survived by her mother Modesta Flores, children Gloria (Anthony) Sanchez, Juan Jr. (Consuelo) Zuniga, Cynthia Christine Zuniga, and Tara (Lucas) Gonzales; brothers Manuel, Mike, Ruben, Roy, and Andy Flores, sisters Rosario and Luisa Flores, Betty Fernandez, and Angie Komar. She also leaves her legacy to 25 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Those now rejoicing with Guadalupe on the other side include her father Andres Flores, husband Juan Zuniga Sr., two sons Steven Jesus and Robert Joseph Zuniga, daughter Linda Kay Zuniga, and a granddaughter Ebbonie Rose Gifford.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful doctors and nurses at McKay Dee Hospital for their loving care and service to Guadalupe, especially her personal nurse Rachel Buchanan. You truly were her cherished angels. A special thanks to Farmington Bay Dialysis.
