Gusman “Gus” Domingo Maestas

CLEARFIELD – Gusman “Gus” Domingo Maestas, 83, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born August 17, 1926 in Alcalde, New Mexico the son of Prisciliano and Refugio Pacheco Maestas.
Gus married Elsie Griego. She preceded him in death. He married Donna Waterson. She preceded him in death. He married Helen Salas on March 21, 1991 in Ogden, Utah.
He retired from Hill Air Force Base as a Sheetmetal Mechanic.
He was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and a bowling league.
Gus loved to go fishing and camping at Lost Creek and the Uintahs. He loved to be with his family, watch sports, especially baseball and eat his favorite Mexican food.
Survived by his wife Helen, his loving children: Harry (Linda) Maestas, Manuel Maestas, Angie (Victor) Rodarte, Virginia Trujillo, Aggie (Sid) Carter, Myra (Richard) Loock, brothers, Felipe Maestas, Nick (Ggi) Maestas, sister Ruth Martinez, CA; 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Preceded in death by his wives, Elsie, Donna, granddaughter Kristen, parents, five sisters and one brother.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 18, 2010 at 9 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Layton. Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Prayer service at 7 p.m.
