Guy Eugene Hardman, 81, passed away peacefully in his home in the early morning of January 12, 2025, after a courageous battle with dementia.
Guy was born November 11, 1943, in Heber City, Utah. The eldest of eight children of Lehi Earl and Sarah Jean Carroll Hardman, he was raised and schooled in Heber City, graduating from Wasatch High, Class of 1962.
Guy was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission to the Great Lakes Mission. After returning home, he was drafted in 1966 into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Guy served state-side, stationed at Ft. Lewis, Washington with the Combat Engineers.
Guy met Saundra Jackson in Logan, Utah on a Memorial Day outing through extended family. They were married on July 26, 1969 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and were sealed in the Bountiful Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Memorial Day, 1996 .Guy’s early years were spent working in the timber industry and he developed a great love for the mountains. He enjoyed going fishing and hunting with his family. Family vacations were spent camping in the depths of nature or “bowels of the earth.” His other great loves were shooting the breeze with friends and family, taking care of his dogs and horses, and in later years, going to the horse races. He also loved watching old westerns and attending rodeos.
Guy was a good provider, spending years on the open road as a top-notch truck driver. Guy never lost his quirky sense of humor and ability to make people laugh. His smile and sweet spirit were felt by all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children, David Hardman, Salt Lake City; Nancy Huish, Centerville; Jay Hardman, West Bountiful; Earl Hardman, South Jordan; Laura Hardman, Dallas, TX; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; by his siblings, Jeff (Joy) Hardman, Heber City; Wayne (Julie) Hardman, Heber City; Fred Hardman, Moab; Kay “Twitch” (Sandra) Hardman, Hurricane; Sarah (Jerry) Lund, Heber City; and Shirley Rickers, Heber City. Guy was preceded in death by his parents and by his in-laws, David and Evelyn Jackson; brother, Dan; sons, Eric Lee Hardman and Gregg Dee Wineriter; by daughter-in-law, Vivan, and by his son-in-law, Rob Huish.
