Guy Smart

Guy F. Smart, 56, passed away Friday, August 5, 2016.

He was born December 18, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah the son of Dean and Arlene Allington Smart.

Guy graduated from Brighton High School in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Guy married Cindy Koch on October 9, 1980 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He retired from the Utah Army National Guard and enjoyed working at HAFB for 30 years.

Guy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  Guy loved Dutch oven cooking, and was an avid Harley enthusiast who loved riding with The Hill Riders.

Surviving are his wife Cindy, sons, Cory (Rebecca), Ft. Worth, TX; Eric, Layton; grandchildren, Jesse Dean Smart, Aidan Guy Smart (due in January), parents, Dean and Arlene Smart, brother, Kevin F. (Monica) Smart, Kearns; and sister, ArDean Smart, Salt Lake City.

Preceded in death by his grandparents.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Guy’s honor.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
