Gwen (Gwendolyn) Rose Parker

April 20, 1948 — September 5, 2022

 

Gwen passed peacefully on September 5, 2022.

 

Gwen was born April 20, 1948 in Columbia, South Carolina to Roger and Lena Williams. Her early years were spent in Columbia. Her father was employed in the heavy equipment construction industry and travelled extensively, sometimes offering the family to live in many places. Some of these include Florida and the Keys, Panama, a short period in Pocatello, Idaho, and the Ogden, Utah.

 

Gwen graduated from Ogden High in 1966 and married Charles Bert Parker that same year. Gwen was a member of the Davis County Search and Rescue where she had the ranking of Lieutenant and Captain. She won many shooting competitions at the State and National Search and Rescue Conventions.

 

Gwen retired from the IRS after many years, where she was a manager and had many girlfriends that she enjoyed their weekly lunch dates.

 

Gwen loved to travel with Bert and close friends to many wonderful places, including Kawaii, Hawaii, Las Vegas for the Professional Bull Riding finals and many cruises and trips to Florida.

 

Gwen was preceded in death by both her parents, Roger and Lena Williams, Randolph Ward (brother),Warnemia Hamilton (sister), David Parker (son), and Jordyn Parker (granddaughter). She is survived by her husband Bert Parker, sister-in-Law Cheri (Tom) Daniel, daughter Stacy (Brian) Smith, granddaughter CoryAnn (Justin) Carey, grandsons Skyler and Aaron (Michaela) Parker, her great grandsons Erikai and Kyson, and Sebastion Parker soon to arrive

 

Friends may visit with family Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
