Gwyn Worthen Van Leuven

Gwyn Worthen Van Leuven, 81, was known as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was loved by many. She passed away peacefully at her home in South Ogden, Utah, on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. She was a Utah native, born to Jasper and Rebba Smith Worthen on July 26, 1937 in Provo, Utah.
She married Ted A. Van Leuven on November 8, 1957 in Provo. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. Ted passed away on January 12, 1995.
Gwyn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving faithfully in many callings. Her bright and beautiful smile brought joy to many wherever she went. If she wasn’t spending time with family, you could find her walking the mall, catching up on the latest films, or making her lawn or home immaculate. She was loved by everyone around her and she will be deeply missed.
Gwyn is survived by her sons, Bret (Kim) and Cody (Wayne); daughter, Lisa Trujillo; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and sister, DeEtte (Tim) McKenna. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Carl, Lynn, Ray, Gordon, and Guy; and sister, Bonnie Messerly.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the South Ogden 8th Ward, 720 Nancy Drive. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Springville Evergreen Cemetery. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
