Henry “ Taylor” Becraft

Henry “Taylor” Becraft, 94, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015.
He was born April 28, 1920 in Ogden, Utah, a son of Chester Arthur and Ella Barbara Hislop Becraft. He graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber State College.
He served his country in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper during World War II.
On May 15, 1941, Taylor married Virginia Fowers in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple.
He worked for and retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad.
Taylor was a member of the Railroad Retired Golf Association and the Sheet Metal Worker Association.
He loved to golf, golf, and golf. All who knew him envied his quick wit and sense of humor.
Taylor is survived by his wife, Virginia; their children, Gerald Taylor (Josie) Becraft, Roy; Susan (Jim Leach) Hall, Layton; daughter-in-law, Lisa Becraft, Layton; nine grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren. He was a proud Patriarch of five generations of male descendants.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Chester Arthur Becraft, and his son, Michael Earl Becraft.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 31st at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, where Military Honors will be accorded. The family will meet with friends Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
