KAYSVILLE - H. Arthur Johnson, Jr., cherished husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on September 8, 2008. Arthur was born on July 25, 1927 to H. Arthur and Lillie Cicely Marie Hansen Johnson. Following graduation from South High, he served in the Navy during World War II. He married his high school sweetheart, Evelyn Dawn Lindsay, on March 19, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple.

He attended the University of Utah and became an aerospace engineer. In 1955 he made his home in Kaysville. He worked at Hill AFB until his retirement in 1989. He loved his country, served as Mayor of Kaysville City and other civic capacities. As an active member of his church, he served faithfully in many callings, including Bishop of the Sunset Ward. He and his wife, Evelyn, served a mission in France and worked in the Ogden Temple.

Dad made his children and grandchildren feel loved and appreciated as individuals, and treated the in-laws like they were his own. He loved people, and took time to greet friends, co-workers and acquaintances with warmth and respect. He is known for being fair, honest and a man of his word. He took pleasure in spending time at the family cabin, and enjoyed hunting and camping with his family and dear friends. He spent many happy hours oil painting and working in his wood shop. His greatest joy and source of pride is the family he created with his angel wife.
