H. T. Rinehart “Tiny”

LAYTON – H. T. Rinehart “Tiny”, 77, passed away May 12, 2014.

He was born August 15, 1936 in Little Rock, Arkansas the son of H.T. Rinehart Sr. and Leona Chesney Rinehart Starling.

H. T. served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. While serving in the U.S. Air Force he resided in various bases in CA; Travis AFB, March AFB, Misawa AFB, Itazuke AFB, Japan and retired in 1976 at Hill AFB, and moved to Layton. In the U.S. Air Force he worked at Hill AFB in the Motor Pool, and worked in supply as civilian, retiring in 1996.

H.T. married Shizue Sashida on March 28, 1958 in Tokyo, Japan. They were married 53 years when she passed away in 2012.

He was a member of the American Legion, VFW 8307 and NRA Life Member. H. T. loved gun collecting, fishing, hunting, Wendover trips and watching old western movies every day.

Surviving are his daughters, Lona Sue (Michael) Stewart, Lalana Sue (Fernando) Ortega, son, Ira Lee (Margaret) Rinehart, eight grandchildren, Kristel Martin, James Ray Payne, Thomas, Michael and Laura Rinehart, Melanie Amador, Kelly and Cassey Stewart, numerous great grandchildren, and sisters, Mary Astor Hall, Marion Hurley, Modesto, CA.

Preceded in death by his wife, grandson, William H. Payne III, granddaughter, Brandi Kai Rinehart, sisters, Selma Logan and Reba Whitfield.

The family would like to thank Eleanor Duncan, for her care and love of our father his during the last days of life. Also we would like to thank Dr. Bruce Burtenshaw, his nurse Mary and his staff.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. (Please dress casual.)
