Thank you America,
The True Land of Freedom and Opportunity!
Hae C. Chi, 88, passed away peacefully at Lakeview Hospital surrounded by family. Hae was born in North Korea on October 21, 1925. She married Tae H. Chi 70 years ago. They escaped from North Korea to South Korea in 1945. She lived in South Korea for 30 years and then the United States for 40 years. Her life’s journey was incredible and she left a remarkable legacy. Hae and Tae had five beautiful children, 11 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of North Canyon Care Center and Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful for their sincere care of Hae and Tae. Also, special thanks to Bishop George West for his genuine love for her and to Avalon Health Care Group who recognized Hae’s amazing life as an Avalon Life Journeys Award Winner, including a celebration of her life’s journey at the Grand America Hotel in 2012. Though Hae speaks limited English, her warmth and compassion move beyond the barrier of language and touch those around her. The family will be privately celebrating Hae’s life. Interment will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Bountiful City Cemetery. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.
