Harley Demoin Christensen
KAYSVILLE a" Harley D. Christensen, 90, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 3, 2012, at his home.
He was born June 30, 1921 in Chester, Utah the son of Christian Christensen and Nicolina Nielson Christensen.
Harley married Naomi Ruth Lenon on March 14, 1942 in Chester, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II.
He was an active member of the LDS Church and held the position of High Priest. Ward members always spoke highly of Harley and what a wonderful man he was.
Harley retired from Hill Air Force Base but his true love and calling was being a photographer. He was very talented and people sought him out to take their pictures. He enjoyed hunting trips with his sons and always went to the annual family hunt.
His family was important to him and always came first. Harley did not want to leave his beloved wife, Naomi, without him and was determined to not leave this earth before she did. He got his wish when Noami passed away three and a half days before he did.
Surviving are his sons, Dee (Hazel) Christensen, Sunset; Ned (Sue) Christensen, Midway; Mike (Lanette) Christensen, Ogden; daughters, Kathleen Chynoweth, Jill Christensen Day, Kaysville; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his son, Kevin Christensen, grandchildren, Robert Chynoweth, Wendi Chynoweth; parents; brothers, Christian, Harold, Clark, Odell, Harvey; sisters, Eva, Erva and Lavon.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
