Harlow H. Hayes
ROY – Harlow Harvey Hayes, 89, of Monte Vista, died Monday, April 21, 2008 at his home.
He was born in Kaysville, Utah, on November 25, 1918 to Wells Perry and Mary Christina Penman Hayes.
Harlow and Myrle Vaughn were married on November 1, 1944 in the Logan LDS Temple. Mom died on Saturday, November 17, 2007. After her passing, Dad said with a sincere heart and tear stained eyes that she was the most beautiful woman in the world and the best wife there ever was. They were the perfect example of an eternal marriage to us who are left behind. We as a family are happy they are together again.
He graduated from Kaysville High School, retired from Hill Air Force Base and was a survivor of World War II. He loved fishing, hunting, and woodworking but most of all he loved being a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather.
Dad is survived by his two sons, Mark Stephen (Sandy) Hayes, Henefer; Michael H. (Liz) Hayes, Clinton; eight grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers and three sisters, Weldon Wells (Gladys) Hayes, Arvil Milton (Grutrude), Forest Donald (Ardith) Hayes, Ruby (Dan) Brown, Ruth (Victor) Snow and Reva Hayes.
The family expressed their gratitude for the professional care given by the Hospice Organization this past year. He enjoyed their company.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Saturday from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
