Harold Barnes

Harold William Barnes, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at age 83 at Davis Hospital, Layton, UT.

Harold was born in Wilson, NC on January 23, 1933 the son of Troy T. Barnes and Berta L. Hinton. He married Mary Ann Bernabel January 21, 1961. He served 23 years in the Air Force followed by 20 years of civil service in the Miami VA Hospital where he retired. Harold and Mary spent their time after retirement boating with friends until relocation to Utah in 2001 to be near their children.

Harold is survived by his loving wife Mary Ann Barnes of 55 years; three children, Harold W. Barnes II; Gina M. Kelley; Michael T. Barnes (Melody) all from Layton; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters Francis Barnes Allen of Kinston, NC. And Helen Langdon of Coats, NC; and his loving dog Barnabie.

Harold was a dear husband, father and grandfather and will be sorely missed. Our love for him will stay in our hearts until we meet again. His endless stories and songs will be remembered.

Graveside services will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 1711 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, UT. Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. that morning at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road.
