Harold E. Manning

"SHORT"

February 17, 1928 ~ December 14, 2013

FARMINGTON, UT a" Harold E. Manning, fondly known as "Short", age 85 passed through the veil on Saturday, December 14, 2013, to join his sweetheart, LaDell, who departed from this earthly life to prepare their heavenly home, just six weeks ago.

He was the son of Delbert LeRay and Harriet Edwina Miller Manning. He was born February 17, 1928 in Farmington, UT. He was a graduate of Davis High School in 1946.

He married the love of his life, LaDell Hess on August 29, 1950 in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. They made their home in Farmington, where they enjoyed their entire lives together.

He made his career with the Utah Air National Guard for 32 years and retired as a Senior Master Sargent. After retiring from the Guard, he became a bus driver for the Davis School District for several years. It was a time in his life he cherished because he loved being with the kids. He served his community as a volunteer fireman for the Farmington Fire Dept. for 11 years. He loved and respected those he served with.

He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Giving a lifetime of service in many capacities. Always ready to help those in need. He also served a mission at the LDS Employment Center of Bountiful with his sweetheart.

Short loved people and people loved him. He may have been "short", but he had a heart as big as the great outdoors. He has touched the lives of many for good and will be greatly missed by all.

We know Dad missed Mom terribly and are grateful they are now together forever. We love you Mom and Dad! Merry Christmas!

A special thanks to all who cared for our dear parents.

Short is survived by his son, Hal H. Manning, and daughter, Shauna M. (Anthony) Martin; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Farmington Rock Chapel, 272 N. Main, Farmington, UT.
