RIVERDALE a€" Harold C. Rasmussen, 89, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at his home in Riverdale.

Harold was born December 29, 1918 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, to Farrel and Carrie Andersen Rasmussen.

He married Arda Biglar, from Fountain Green, Utah, on July 10, 1940 in the Manti LDS Temple. They had five children. Arda preceded him in death on November 16, 1993. In 1996, he married Rhoda Davison, from California, in Elko, Nevada.

Harold worked for 38 years for the O.U.R. & D. and Union Pacific Railroads retiring in 1980.

Surviving are his wife, Rhoda, of Riverdale; his children, JoAnn (Gene) Meibos, Steve (Darlene), Rasmussen, Karen Mark, Scot (Tori) Rasmussen, Val (Pam) Rasmussen, all of Utah; three stepdaughters, Wendy (John) Serowchak, Gayle Davison, Shelly Davison, all of Sacramento, CA; 25 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are one brother, Don (Clara) Rasmussen, and one sister, Kathrine Thomas.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents Farrel and Carrie, his twin brother, Jarold Rasmussen, brother, Vernon Rasmussen, three granddaughters, April, Misty, & Heather, and stepdaughter, Wendy Serowchek.

The family wishes to thank Sharon, Amber and Nicole of Vista Care Hospice for their loving care of Harold.

Private family graveside services will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Association or Vista Care Hospice.
