Harold “Bud” S. Rorabaugh
CLEARFIELD – Harold “Bud” S. Rorabaugh, 86, died Thursday, October 25, 2007 at Manor Care Nursing Center of natural causes.
He was born April 27, 1921 in Neligh, Nebraska, a son of Morris and Mila White Rorabaugh.
On June 28, 1941, Harold married Velma Phipps in Phoenix, Arizona. Velma preceded him in death on August 25, 1990.
He was born in Neligh, Nebraska and grew up in Glendale, Arizona where he lived until he was 17. He then moved to Highland and San Bernardino, California where he lived from 1941 to 1965. He then moved to Kaysville, Layton, and Clearfield, Utah where he lived the remainder of his life.
Harold was a member of the Clearfield Community Church where he was a church moderator, deacon, trustee, choir member, and pulpit committee member.
As a veteran of World War II, Bud served his country with the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945.
He retired from Hill Air Force Base following 31 years of service as a supervisor of Missile Systems.
Harold loved being a volunteer at Davis Hospital and Medical Center and a member of the NCO Club. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and square dancing. He was loved very much by family and friends, and children were drawn to him. He will greatly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are two daughters, Janet M. (Jim) Simon, Aurora, CO; Joan L. (Gary) Bohning, Clearfield; four grandchildren, Janee Simon, Jill Longfellow, Barcley Bohning and Joy Bohning, and eight great-grandchildren.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Velma, two brothers, Fredrick and Kenneth Rorabaugh and one sister, Evelyn Lacey.
Memorial services will be held Monday at 4 p.m. at the Clearfield Community Church, 200 South 500 East, Clearfield, UT.
Cremation under the direction of Lindquist’s Crematory.
A memorial fund has been established at the Clearfield Community Church in memory of Harold Roabaugh, in lieu of flowers.
