Harold V. Yearsley
OGDEN a" Harold Vernal Yearsley, 82, died Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at McKay-Dee Hospital.
He was born April 8, 1927 in Ogden, a son of Vernal Ezra and Sadie Ione Slater Yearsley.
On January 10, 1947, Harold married Ardis Hock in Ogden. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.
He served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II.
Harold was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Harold enjoyed tying flies and loved to fish. He and Ardis were camp hosts at Island Park, Idaho for 18 years. Harold was a volunteer fireman and E.M.T. He retired as a master mechanic after 30 years for Utah Power & Light Co.
Surviving are his wife Ardis of Ogden; one son and two daughters, Kurtis H. (Martha) Yearsley, Columbus, OH; Lorna (Les) Bitton, North Ogden; Deonn (Mike) Earl, Santa Clara, UT; 11 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers and one sister, Kenneth (Larene) Yearsley, South Ogden; Gene (Donna) Yearsley, North Ogden; Shirley Mae (Hirsh) Endo, Clinton.
Preceding Harold in death were his parents, infant daughter, Kathleen, and one infant brother.
Private family services were held.
