SYRACUSE a€" Harold Douglas Youngfield, 84, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010 at his home.

He was born March 18, 1925 in Denver, Colorado the son of Oscar Kurt and Alice Benson Youngfield.

Harold was in the Army in World War II and received a Purple Heart.

He married Alice Mary Lee on December 5, 1945 in Ogden, Utah. She preceded him in death on September 22, 2003.

He was employed at Freeport Center in procurement and after retirement he went to Weber State and got a Fine Arts degree. Later he was employed at South Clearfield Elementary.

Harold loved watercolor art, gardening, traveling, geology and his family.

He was a member of the LDS Church and a LDS High Priest.

Surviving are his sons, Douglas K., Brent Lee, three daughters, Rebecca, Deborah, Lisa, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and sister, Alice Dennis, Littleton, CO.

Preceded in death by his wife Mary and daughter Susan.

He was greatly loved by his family and community.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 8, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Syracuse Canterbury Crossing Ward, 2500 W. 1273 So. Friends and family may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 at the church. Interment, Brigham City Cemetery.
