“Together Forever”

Our beautiful mom, grandma, and great-grandma passed away peacefully on July 8, 2018 surrounded by family. Mom was born on June 30, 1924 to Ezra Earl and Elizabeth McLean Hadley. She was the 5th of seven children and always thought she was her dad’s favorite girl. Mom was very proud to be from Plain City, where she grew up on the family farm. She graduated from Weber High School where she met her sweetheart Lloyd E. King. They were married on October 15, 1944, in Joplin, MO. After the war, they made their home in the “city” which she learned to love. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 15, 1955. They had three children, Sandy, Jim, and Jolene.

Mom worked at Defense Depot Ogden during World War II and at IRS while raising her children. She was a great homemaker, lived on a schedule and exemplified the roll of a perfect mother. In her own words, “I was either washing, ironing, shopping, attending ball games or in bed asleep.” Her favorite hobby was shopping. She liked to look her best and expected her children to do the same. You always combed your hair before going to see Grandma King. In later years she enjoyed going to lunch with her friends. Mom grew up playing or watching sports, which she did with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was always supportive and the best cheerleader for our family. Her pep talk was always the same, “Do Your Best.”

Mom was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Durland and Clyde, sisters Isabell and Lucille, son-in-law Brent R. Dixon, and three great-grandchildren Treavor, Lily, and Ethan.

Mom is survived by her children Sandy (Vern) Coombs, Jim (Kathy) King, and Jolene Dixon; her sister AnnaLee DeFries and brother LaGrand (Eleanor) Hadley. She is loved by 12 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

As a family we would like to give a big thanks to Alisa and Marian from Symbii Home Health and Hospice. They did a wonderful job helping us take care of mom this past year.

Mom said in her own words, “No one has been more loved or well taken care of than I…” Till we meet again…We all love You…
