Harriette Anne “Peggy” Sexton Ragland
OGDEN - Harriette Anne Sexton Ragland, nicknamed Peggy, passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the age of 92.
She was born September 21, 1921 in Iowa City, Iowa. She was the oldest of three children born to Phoebe Anne Crystal Sexton and John LaFafette Sexton. She graduated from El Paso High School in El Paso, Texas at 16 and Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater, Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration at 20.
On March 13, 1943, Peggy married Lee Ragland, U.S. Naval Air Force, in Corpus Christi, Texas. When Lee returned from overseas in 1945, they made their home in Denver, Colorado. They had one daughter, Leanne. The small family moved to Ogden in 1954. Lee passed away on December 25, 1993.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Leanne Ragland Shay, Ogden; grandson, Matthew Lee (Shay) Brandy), North Ogden; great-grandsons, Canon Lee Shay and Dayton Thompson, and constant companion, Jenny¬¬¬¬ her border collie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her sister, Norma Sexton Harvey and brother, Jackson LaFafette Sexton, and her parents.
Please join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, October 5th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. The family will meet with friends on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
