Harry M. Gardner, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 16th, 2024, in Ogden, Utah. Born August 20th, 1946, in Price Utah. Harry lived a life full of love, compassion, gratitude, charity, and dedication to family and friends.
Harry spent his early years in Price before growing up in Farmington. As a young adult, he served a mission in the Central States and also completed schooling at the Weaver Airline Personnel School. He then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he met and fell in love with his wife Linda and her daughter Denise. They were married on October 4, 1974 at the Provo Temple. Together they raised their children in Farmington before moving to Layton.
Harry enjoyed a successful career with Frontier Airlines where he worked for 16 years. He then worked at Fidelity Investments, dedicating 23 years to the company before retiring.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and supporting his grandchildren in their extracurricular activities. He had a passion for writing poems and especially for writing heartfelt letters to loved ones which became cherished keepsakes for the lucky recipients. He also loved everything cars, doing yard work, reading, learning, and solving crossword puzzles.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Betty Gardner, his wife Linda Matthews Gardner, and almost all of his many aunts and uncles who he cherished.
He was the eldest of five siblings. He is survived by his sisters Carol (Ray) Rasmussen, Darlene (Norm) Robbins, Beckie (Steve) Dragon, and his brother Gary (Gracey) Gardner.
Harry leaves behind his loving children Denise Imlay, Debrah Gardner, Karrie Moss, Krista (GT Luna) Gardner, Stacey (Jonathon) Henderson. He was the proud grandfather to twelve grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Harry’s legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will forever be remembered by those who knew him. He touched many lives with his warm heart and generous spirit.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road Layton, Utah. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday, June 25, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday June 26, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Mortuary.
Interment-Farmington Cemetery.
Harry will be greatly missed and his absence will saturate our lives forever.
