Harry Hiroshi Sugihara 4/8/1922 a" 8/13/2010
ROY - Our beloved father, Harry Sugihara, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 13, 2010.
Harry was born on April 8, 1922 in Tacoma, Washington, to Utaro and Masu Yonezawa Sugihara.
After graduating from Puyallup High School, Harry worked on the family farm.
At the onset of World War II, he was interned at Minedoka. Harry joined the U.S. Army where he served with Company F of the 442nd RCT in the European Theater. He was a Purple Heart recipient. After his discharge from the U.S. Army, Harry worked at Hill A.F.B. where he retired in 1977.
Harry is survived by Jane Kikuchi, his wife of 64 years and children Martyn (Gwynn), Olympia, WA; Claire (Dwight) McConnell, Roy; Deinie (Doug) Morishita, West Valley City; Tracey, Topeka, KS; Brady, Sandy; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Dorothy (Dudie) Maeda, Chino, CA; and Frances (Frank) Nomura, Las Vegas, NV.
He was preceded in death by siblings, George, Ruth (Chiri) Yemoto, and Martha Hamada.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Intermountain Medical Center Respiratory ICU for their care and compassion.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 21 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Family will visit with friends at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
