Haruo (Harry) Yoshikawa
LAYTON a�" Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Haruo (Harry) Yoshikawa, 82, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013.
He was born March 21, 1931 in Honolulu, Hawaii the son of Sadashichi and Kaori Shigemitsu Yoshikawa.
Harry married Katsuko Tonosaki on December 23, 1960 in Sapparo, Japan.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam War retiring after 20 years. During his time in the U.S. Air Force he served six years in the United States; 14 years in Pacific Command, Texas, Florida, Philippines, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, TDY to Okinawa, Midway, Guam, Australia and Chile. After retiring from the Air Force, Harry became an Electrical Contractor and later worked at the University of Utah Hospital as an Electrical Technician.
Harry enjoyed woodworking, carving, golf and gardening.
Surviving are his wife Katsuko Yoshikawa, Layton; son Vance W. Yoshikawa, Aurora, CO; daughter, Susan R. Yoshikawa-Torres, Layton; eight grandchildren, who adored and honored him, brother, Fred Yoshikawa, Florida; and sister, Edna Takesue, Indiana/Connecticut.
Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Sadao Yoshikawa, Albert Yoshikawa, sisters, Jane Koga, Clara Doi, Mae Nitta and Katsue Komata.
Memorial services will be held Monday, December 30, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the mortuary. Inurnment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
