Hazel Marie Burdess
April 3, 1932 ~ June 25, 2014
Hazel Marie Burdess, passed away today at the age of 82 after a full life of adventure, joy, and accomplishment. Born in Vernal, UT she moved to Ogden by the fourth grade and later graduated from Ogden High School.
She met and married her soul mate James William “Bill” Burdess in 1951. They had six children: Jaylene (Steve), Abbie, Eber (Raelene), Noey, Will, and Darrin (Melannee) who gave Hazel and Bill 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, June and Germaine.
An avid bowler, talented seamstress, skillful cook at home and on camping trips too, she enjoyed hiking, painting, fishing, dancing, traveling, playing volleyball in the backyard and being a John Wayne fan. Above all she loved family unconditionally and taught us to love wholeheartedly.
Hazel is preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Eber Davis, along with five siblings Lois, Jack, Bud, Tim, and Carol, and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
