Hazel Coenen Davis

Hazel Coenen Davis was born in Montgomery, Alabama on February 16, 1914 to Eugene A. and Annie Grasty Coenen. She was the 4th of five children.

On May 28, 1940, Hazel married John A. Davis in Wetumpka, Alabama. John served in the United States military for 30 years. The Davis''s lived in several states including Alaska and Guam, and have resided in Roy, Utah, since 1961. John preceded her in death on December 26, 2007.

She was very active in church and civic affairs. She has been a member of the Christian Church since childhood and was affiliated at the First Christian Church of Ogden and later in the Roy Christian Church. She served in many positions in her churcha€"as Sunday school teacher, president of the Christian Women''s Fellowship, and secretary of the Official Board for many years. Hazel was a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), the Golden Spike Chapter DAR in Ogden; Order of Eastern Star Elizabeth Armstrong, Montgomery, Alabama; and Associate Wives at Hill Air Force Base. She had been active in International Order of Rainbow for Girls, Job''s Daughters, Demolay for Boys, and Girl Scouts of America.

She retired from the accounting and finance division at Hill Air Force Base.

Her favorite hobbies were golfing and gardening.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and her husband. She is survived by her children, Joan Louise Feddern, Roy; Annie M. (Bob) Hendricks, Oxford, KS; John A. Davis II, San Jose, CA; four grandchildren, Joy Feddern (Rick) Allenbaugh, Sumter, SC; Stacy Feddern (James) Sayers, Riverdale; Robert Hendricks and Matt Hendricks, Oxford, KS; and three great-grandchildren, Micah Allenbaugh, and Cole and Cora Sayers.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 12th at 2 p.m. at the Roy Christian Church, 4347 South 1900 West, with Pastor James Sayers officiating.

A public visitation and reception will be held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the church.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, Ogden.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or to Gideons International.
