Heather Marie Beasley Dumas

September 24, 1980 — May 14, 2024

Heather was a spirited, loving, passionate force. We lost her cheerful smile too soon. She leaves her husband Anthony and children Jace and Toni who were loved with immeasurable depth. Her endless smile, energetic voice and cynical wit were loved and admired by everyone she touched.

From the age of two and a half, Heather, with the encouragement and support of her parents Robin and Beverly, developed her great passion for skiing. Even at that age, she would be on the mountain all day, sleeping in her car seat all the way home, and not waking until the next morning. Heather began racing on the Snowbird Ski Team when she was nine years old. Her skills and passion grew, and she excelled through her high school years, making lifelong friends on the way.

Heather graduated in 2001 from the University of Utah. Unable to leave the slopes behind, she continued working at Snowbird as a restaurant manager. Juggling her new job, she used her love of teaching and vast knowledge of the slopes of Snowbird to pursue a second career, earning her PSIA full certification, and working as Ski Instructor at Snowbird.

While exploring new career options, Heather worked for Low Book Sales where she met the love of her life, Anthony Dumas. Anthony romantically proposed while they were skiing together at Snowbasin. Heather and Anthony had a fairy tale ceremony at Snowbird and moved to South Weber, Utah where they settled into a beautiful home and started a family.

Snow Basin became her new home. Heather returned to her passion and honed her education and experience as a Ski Instructor at Snowbasin. After passing exams, which included teaching and coaching, her success was recognized, and she became an Instructor on the Inter-Mountain Demo Team training aspiring ski instructors to obtain their certifications.

Always moving and climbing higher, Heather added fitness instruction and personal training to her busy life. This led to HD Transformations; her own popular and successful business as a life style coach. She was a self-proclaimed “badass”. Heather’s motto: “Self-Care Without Sacrifice” encouraged women focus on a healthy lifestyle and be all that they can be as professionals and mothers. Throughout her amazing professional journey, she strived to help others, establishing meaningful lifelong friendships.

Nothing in Heather’s career stood in the way of her fierce, protective love for her family. She and Anthony loved each other deeply. Heather’s deserving pride in her children radiated. She encouraged their growth and unfailingly participated in their many pursuits. Jace’s love of music, soccer, football, skiing, now a Certified Instructor, gave her so much pride and joy. Toni was her princess who danced in a blue dress to “Let it Go”, was active in Girl Scouts (Heather, of course, was a leader), and gave Heather immense happiness to watch her become a ski racer. Together as a family the Dumas family spent their summers boating, water skiing, fishing, and camping; there were always S’Mores.

Heather’s extended family is devastated and heartbroken to lose her far too soon. We love you Healthy, you will always be in our hearts. We know you are watching from above guiding your children to become happy, successful adults, just like you.

A Celebration to honor Heather’s enormous life will be held at Snowbasin Resort June 2, 2024 from 1:00-4:00. She will be there in spirit to greet everyone.
