Heather Lynn Cook Jenkins, a beloved wife, daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away in the early morning hours of August 25, 2024, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on October 24, 1972, Heather’s life was a testament to her enduring strength, compassion, and devotion to her family.
Heather was sealed to her true love and cherished eternal companion, Dan James Jenkins, on July 30, 1998. She was a devoted mother to her four children: Clara Lynn Jackson (Bryar); Anna Marie Hadley (Spencer); Daniel James Jenkins; and Zachary Russell Jenkins. Her family was her greatest joy, and she embraced her role as a wife and mother with boundless love and dedication.
Family was everything to Heather, and she nurtured and supported her children with a love that knew no bounds. Her daughters’ dance performances and her sons’ soccer and football games were met with enthusiastic cheerleading and reflected her deep pride and joy in their achievements.
Heather is survived by her parents Lenora Lynn Willden Cook and Tim Russell Cook (Sue). Her siblings are Scott Johnson (Rindi), Brittany Carroll, Angie England, Melissa Woolsey (Klint), and Timothy Cook (Kim). Heather had 14 nephews and 13 nieces and loved them all; she was like a second mother to every one of them. Her greatest gift was her ability to comfort and uplift those around her. Her laugh was infectious, her smile was radiant, and she brought warmth and reassurance to everyone she encountered. Her presence was a source of joy and solace, and she had a remarkable talent for making others feel loved and valued.
Heather earned her degree in Health Promotions from Weber State University, where she demonstrated a commitment to improving the well-being of others. She made significant contributions through her work as Senior Talent Acquisition Partner at JR Automation.
A committed member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Heather served a full-time mission in Morristown, New Jersey, and left a lasting impact. Throughout her life, Heather held various church callings, each time bringing her characteristic enthusiasm, kindness, and leadership to her roles. Her faith was a force that continued to guide her throughout her life.
The family would like to give special thanks to the North Ogden 22nd Ward, neighbors, and friends for the love and support in providing meals and tremendous amounts of service during this difficult time. They would also like to express heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Carl Gray, his staff, and the incredibly compassionate aid they provided to Heather. The oncology nurses tenderly cared for Heather in a way that made her battle against cancer more bearable. The family also offers grateful recognition to Elevation, who provided hospice care in her last days.
A Celebration of Life to honor Heather’s life and legacy will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at The Grand View: 339 E 2250 S, Suite 103. The interment will take place on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Ogden.
Heather’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be remembered for her extraordinary strength, unwavering love, and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to help Heather’s family. They are now facing the overwhelming burden of medical bills that exceed $150,000. Any donation, no matter how small, will help Dan and the children as they navigate life without Heather. Your generosity will go towards covering the medical expenses and providing some financial relief for the family as they grieve and adjust to their new reality. A GoFundMe account has been set up to help with these expenses.
