Heber Glenn Nicholas
SYRACUSE ~ Heber Glenn Nicholas ~ "Coach", One of the most phenomenal men to ever walk the earth, was born March 11, 1971 and returned to his Father in Heaven on June 1, 2010 surrounded by his crazy but loving family. An amazing Son, Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Friend and Coach.
Glenn was much loved and will be incredibly missed. He was large in Stature, with the spirit of Nephi. Glenn exemplified the Gospel of Jesus Christ and called many unto repentance. He loved without judgment and was a leader among men.
He grew up in Clearfield and graduated from Clearfield High and the LDS Seminary program in 1989. He met his high school sweetheart Christen Stuart in Jr. High and in High school, they became inseparable, and grew into Eternal Companions on March 1, 1990 in the Salt Lake Temple.
She became his rock, although she would argue the opposite. The two would grow and stretch together, overcoming many trials, learning that the word love indeed changes from a noun and into a verb.
Their union produced their most cherished treasures, Spencer ~ the Great , Chandler ~ the Sweet, and Parker ~ the Comedian... His Legacy will continue.
He loved and lived to coach his children in sports and in life, while also inspiring all who came into contact with to become who they came here to be!
Glenn loved his siblings more than they could comprehend.
Always urging, never forcing them back toward that Iron Rod. He was ever willing to share his Testimony. It pained him to see them fall away and make wrong choices, he would shed many tears, pray his heart out, then chased them down and called them back to the fold.
Glenn had a love for nature and a passion for Basketball. He enjoyed playing with his close friends and his "Saturday Morning Buddies" will always have a special place in his heart.
Fishing was another deep love for Glenn, as a boy, he and his siblings would find the most unusual ponds to cast a line. As a man he would take it to the rivers and the lakes, passing his secrets from his generation to the next.
When he wasn''t "reeling in" or "taking the court", he was dealing the cards! Never for money, always for fun! He knew when to hold ''em and when to fold ''em. He could bluff like no other!
Then there was Glenn''s latest love, TRA.Temple Riders Association. He had a profound love for every member of the gang, especially his elder brother Jeff. He loved his Harley!!
Glenn was the last born child to Heber Kay Nicholas and Julia Searle. He loved his parents dearly. He had 3 siblings, Randy Nicholas - Pocatello Idaho, Jeff (Molly) Nicholas - Hooper Utah, Jenafer Sonnenburg - Waxahachie Texas. He also was blessed with a brother in spirit Ted Sonnenburg. His parents later divorced. His father then married his step mother Ruth and he gained some incredible siblings,: Melissa (Mark) Powers a" Morgan Ut, Eric (Amy) Nicholas a" Layton Utah, Ryan Nicholas a" Salt Lake, Ut, along with his half siblings Natalie and Jacob Nicholas a" Morgan Ut.
Glenn was preceded in Death by his Grandparents a" Oleen Nicholas, Richard Michael and Clarence and Fern Searle. Mother-Julia Searle Hope. Sister - Shamra Nicholas. Brother a" Alex Nicholas and Niece a" Savannah Sonnenburg.
Glenn was survived by his princess bride - Christen Stuart Nicholas, his 3 amazing sons a" Spencer Steven Nicholas, Chandler Harold Nicholas and Parker Glenn Nicholas. His previously mentioned siblings as well as the entire Stuart family that loved and cared for him as one of their own. Also many wonderful Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Glenn would not want us to grieve for our loss but celebrate the life that he lived. he would say, "quit your whining and get over it, for there is much work to be done! Always remember who you are what you came here to do!"
