Heidi Ann Martin

January 13, 1987 ~ January 12, 2017

Heidi Martin, 29, was born with half a heart, but a big one nonetheless. Throughout her life, she has borne countless limitations, discomforts, and a series of invasive surgeries including 2 open-heart procedures and more recently, a heart and liver transplant. After a valiant fight, she passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017, a day shy of her 30th birthday.

She was born on January 13, 1987 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Ronald and Leslie Palmer Martin. She grew up in Ogden and graduated from Bonneville High School and earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Weber State with honors.

She worked as an RN at McKay Dee and was loved dearly by those that she served.

She was a member of the Catholic Church.

Heidi was known for her compassion and kindness towards others. She is admired by many for her ability to brighten the lives of others in spite of what she might be going through personally. She loved traveling and was most fond of her trips to Hawaii and Europe. She loved to shop, especially for shoes and enjoyed working on crafts and art projects.

Heidi is survived by her parents, sister, Heather (Brandon) Hutchins; nephews, Garrett, Carter, Sawyer, and one on the way; grandparents, Erika Martin and Keith Palmer; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Charlene Palmer, and grandfather, Karl Martin.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
